Our Projects & Initiatives

At Legacy Safari Club, our mission extends beyond delivering world-class safari adventures. We actively support and create initiatives that strengthen conservation, promote sustainable use, empower communities, and celebrate South Africa’s cultural and agricultural heritage. Through our projects, we connect people, nature, and opportunity — building a legacy that uplifts both conservation and community.

Legacy Training Academy

The Legacy Training Academy is our flagship skills-development initiative.
Its purpose is simple:
to equip young South Africans with practical training that opens real career pathways in fields linked to the outdoors, hospitality, tourism, and the professional safari industry.

Training includes:

  • Outdoor skills & wilderness awareness
  • Conservation and ethical field practices
  • Hospitality and lodge-oriented skills
  • Firearm safety & responsible use
  • Introduction to the safari and outfitting industry

Our goal is to empower individuals, especially from rural communities, with the confidence and qualifications needed to thrive in the professional outdoor world.

Africa Safari Auction

Africa Safari Auction is a digital platform designed to connect outfitters, hunting operators, and adventure seekers in a fair, transparent, and modern way.

This initiative:

  • Creates a marketplace where safari packages can be auctioned
  • Helps outfitters reach new clients
  • Gives buyers access to competitive, verified safari offers
  • Supports sustainable-use-based tourism

By modernising how safaris are promoted and sold, Africa Safari Auction helps strengthen the broader hunting and wildlife-based economy, which directly supports conservation through sustainable use.

Op Die Plaas

Op Die Plaas is a community-driven agricultural and cultural festival celebrating farm life, family, food, music, and rural heritage.

The event offers:

  • Agricultural demonstrations & agri exhibitions
  • Live performances by artists and entertainers
  • Food stalls, craft markets, and community vendors
  • Family-friendly activities supporting local entrepreneurs
  • A platform for showcasing regional talent, skills, and farming innovation

Op Die Plaas strengthens community unity, promotes agricultural education, and provides a stage for local entertainers and small businesses to shine.

Organisations We Support

Our commitment to conservation, sustainable use, and community upliftment extends to supporting respected organisations aligned with these values.

SUCo-SA — Sustainable Use Coalition South Africa

SUCo-SA advocates for the legal, ethical, science-based sustainable use of South Africa’s natural resources.

Their work includes:

  • Promoting sustainable use as a conservation tool
  • Creating unified voices for conservation, hunting, fisheries, forestry & wildlife economy stakeholders
  • Protecting rural jobs linked to nature-based industries
  • Supporting policy that benefits conservation and communities

We support SUCo-SA because sustainable use is the foundation of successful conservation in Africa.

Matlabas Custodians

The Matlabas Custodians focus on protecting and restoring the Matlabas River system and the surrounding natural environment.

Their initiatives include:

  • River and habitat restoration
  • Community clean-up and awareness programs
  • Monitoring environmental impacts
  • Protecting water sources linked to wildlife, farming, and tourism

Healthy river systems are essential for biodiversity, rural communities, and long-term conservation success. We proudly support their efforts.

Why These Initiatives Matter

Every project and partnership we support is chosen because it contributes to a larger purpose:

  • Education & Skills — giving people the tools to grow
  • Conservation & Sustainable Use — protecting wildlife through responsible utilisation
  • Community Growth — supporting local talent, agriculture, and culture
  • Environmental Protection — ensuring natural systems thrive for future generations

Legacy Safari Club exists not only to offer incredible adventures but also to uplift the people, wildlife, and landscapes that make those adventures possible.
